This isn't at all how it went down... but it felt like it. I was fired shortly after my one year anniversary with the company. 25% of my stock should have vested but in a last-minute move with the other members of the board they devalued all of our stock and started our vesting periods over. I had the option of exercising worthless stock on my way out. I feel bad for the guys who have been there three years and had 75% of their stock vested only to have it start all over again. Additionally everyone's pay was cut a few days prior to my firing so all of my vacation time and severance was paid on the reduced scale.
