The Brandon Genome Project

I really love my family so I'm going to start a project to draw my family tree. Knowing in advance what kinds of twists and turns it takes I'm not sure how to do parts of it or where to draw lines at. It's more complex than it looks.

I'm starting off with my grandparents. Today is Grandma and Grandpa Powell. They're the only grandparents I knew growing up and my Grandma reads the comic. I lived with them for a while when I was very young. My grandmother also inspired this strip.

This is my response to a completely ridiculous email I got:

This is totally awesome! I think it's a stellar idea! In fact, I think it's so great I'm willing to PAY for you to live your dream.

I'll pay the expenses for anyone on this list to move to Saudi Arabia. This sentiment expresses exactly the kind of society they have there.

They only speak one language. They don't have to worry about being a hodgepodge of nationalities trying to get along. And they certainly know how to secure their borders.

You'll get your severe penalties for stealing. Forget about foreign aid. Those guys don't really do that. They have mandatory pledges and loyalty oaths. You just have to do it bowing toward Mecca five times a day. What a glorious way of life! I'm with you comrade!

That way you get your oppressive totalitarian regime and I can keep my hard-fought freedoms. The freedom to worship as I see fit. The freedom to converse or do business in any language I see fit. The freedom to purchase goods on the global market. The freedom to choose punishments that fit the crime.

Maybe you should be worrying less about theft and steroid abuse and worry more about criminals like the guys who are in charge of Enron, Haliburton, Blackwater and AIG. Shoplifting costs us $13B. Yet just a few weeks ago our $2000B (that's nearly 200 times that amount) just evaporated because of the greed of a few people.

All of the illegal immigrants are reported to cost us $10B a year. That's TWO HUNDRED YEARS of illegal immigration costs. All due to a few white people who speak english and are US citizens.

And now, on top of PURPOSEFULLY destroying our economy they want the government to buy up $700B (that's 70 years of Illegal Immigrant care) of their bad debt. And they want to do it all the while giving their top CEOs enormous multi-million dollar benefits packages.

So not only are we $2,000,000,000,000 poorer as a country we've also piled on a $700,000,000,000 in tax debt that will come out of your pocket.

The Iraqi government is pulling in an $80B a year SURPLUS while we pay $120B a year for their freedom. They can at least shoulder the cost of 2/3rds of a year of their freedom.

Where are your priorities? Pull them out of your asses and see that the people who are robbing you blind are not the illegal aliens. They're not the shoplifters.

They are the people who get you to get emotional over things like the pledge, illegals, abortion and religion so they can stay in power and take your money.

Wake up! They know what's up. It's time you knew what was up as well.
